John McCormack is a furniture designer, maker and teacher living and working in Port Townsend. He got his start in woodworking studying under John Kassay, author and expert on Shaker and Windsor Furniture. A graduate of the Cabinet and Furniture Making program at the North Bennet Street School and holding an MFA in Furniture Design from RISD, John has also written for various publications, including a cover story for Fine Woodworking: The Ultimate Crosscut Sled.

He is a solo, long distance kayaker and has paddled from Bellingham to Prince Rupert and from S'Gang Gwaay to Queen Charlotte City.
