On June 16th I am rowing my handcrafted wood Grand Canyon dory from St. Joseph, MO to St. Louis, MO as an "homage" to the mountain men, pioneers, miners and travelers of the Oregon Trail who used the Missouri River as a highway in the 1800's. It should take me a week to row 400 miles across the state and I will be doing a lot of filming and photographing along the way...... rustic "canvas and wool" camping - open fire cooking with elegant camp meals etc......  I will be writing an article about this trip for WoodenBoat Magazine and will create a presentation about the trip for the Wooden Boat Festival.  Then in August, I will head to Montana to do an 80 mile Missouri River trip from Fort Benton through the Badlands of Montana and the White Cliffs - camping and capturing stunning photographs of a very "different" looking "upper" Missouri River. This trip will also be part of the article for Wooden Boat and the presentation.
