Is the adventure the race? Or is it the journey to the race that is the real adventure? The time spent on the water training and building our confidence to race by facing our fears amounts to 100's of miles AND hours while the race itself is only 70 miles with a max of 48 hours to complete it.  This is why most of the adventure actually happens before the adventure itself!

This talk is about how three women of differing abilities and goals signed up for the 70/48 for a third time despite “failures” (and successes) in previous attempts. It's about how we used what we learned from previous adventures, built community to help us train for the race in 2023, and the exciting experiences we had while doing so. We'll have more to tell about this years race itself of course after the race!

My goal for this talk is to inspire anyone, wherever they are on their journey. Be they curious about adventure and wondering if they have what it takes or be they seasoned adventurers that are interested in hearing others stories about how they put the pieces in place to get themselves to the start line.
