As a lifelong sailor, my first novel is (of course) a sea-story. SHANGHAIED, set on a tall ship in 1810, tells the story of a man stolen from his New England life who is determined to return home. His is an adventure/hero's journey that might be meaningful to any one who has ever felt "at sea." By investing in this tale and these characters the perspectives and metaphors sailing offers, I hope that new and non-sailors will feel they are "out there" on the high seas and that experienced sailors will resonate with what they read.
